Scarecrows

All change for 2026!

Momentous news for all scarecrows. No longer will they be constrained by categories. It’s time for some scarecrow freedom of expression! They’ll receive medals, voted for by the public as always, for splendidness in one of the following ways…

Funniest

Scariest

Best Film / TV character

Best Personality

Eco-Friendly

Creative

Topical

Sporty

Most Traditional Straw Scarecrow

The committee are also going to award a Best New Entry and A Best Street Display, rewarding a collective effort from a road or neighbourhood. So it’s off with the restrictive shackles of yesteryear, and full steam ahead for a fun-filled summer where the only limits are your imagination!

Ready to enter?

Enter by 5pm on Friday 28th August to allow time for our trail to be created so people know where your scarecrow is situated. Get your scarecrows out as soon as you like, it’s lovely to see them popping up all over the village! They must be on display from 10am on Saturday 5th Sept til Monday 7th Sept.

To get you started, last year’s winners are below, and we’ve popped a few more in a gallery below. There are loads of videos on YouTube that will show you what to do, too.

This year's entries!

By Saturday 5th Sept, all scarecrows will be on display, all around our village. The map will be updated, too, so you can have a look at them all before voting for your favourite.
